Zonta Club of Launch the Zonta Says No Campaign by calling all to respect the rights of Women and children
Sikat Sining is the name of an informal art club composed of students from the Muntinlupa National High School Annex (MNHSA). Thus, Sikat Sining as a group, stand as a beacon to inspire the other youths and students of MNHS to rise above the challenges of living in a government housing resettlement community. Sikat Sining was formed in October 2012 when the Zonta Club of Alabang commissioned Creative Kids studio to design and facilitate a twelve (12) session module to the first batch of twenty-four (24) girls who will later echo the workshop to the other students of MNHSA.
Two years ago, when the Zonta Club of Alabang (ZCA) approached the Department of Education (DepEd) asking for suggestions as to which school to target for the Scholarship Program of the ZCA. DepEd then directed the club to Muntinlupa National High School Annex(MNSHA). Also strongly recommended that ZCA do a feeding program for the students, as they said that that was even more essential than a scholarship program. ZCA did both. The project provides the student with a lunch meal of vegetables every day where the food is prepared and cooked by fellow students from the 2nd year level as part of their Home Economics class requirement.
The 5-year High School Scholarship Program sponsored by the Zonta Club of Alabang provides an opportunity for young women to finish high school and have a chance at obtaining a higher education. ZCA provides support for the scholars by taking care of tuition fees and incidental expenses, as well as provides them with school materials (backpacks, uniforms, shoes, etc.). Through this scholarship program ZCA hopes to give the young women a secure and enabling environment to learn and feel empowered and confident .

Pink October provided a holistic environment for Breast Cancer survivors, patients and other audiences by engaging the attendees in activities that helped renew self-confidence and improve self-image. The underlying theme of the event was aptly subtitled as “Look Good, Feel Good, Think Good” and the program centered around this concept. Activities included a talk and make-over demonstration by guest speakers where advice on fashion and make-up were shared. This was followed by an enlightening session with Atty. Lorna Kapunan on the Rights of Women and the Family Code.
Empowering women has always been a part of the Zonta tradition. The Zonta Club of Alabang in cooperation with the Chamber of Cosmetics Industry of the Philippines and OK Muntinlupa – Kababaihan ng Muntinlupa, organized the program which was aimed at providing 80 unemployed women from Muntinlupa an opportunity to earn and learn by attending a training course focusing on the following vocational skills: hair cutting and styling; nail care and foot spa; head, shoulders, and back massage; make-up application; and entrepreneurship. The program would serve as a jumping off point for the participants to pursue careers in conjunction with Ever Bilena, SPA Essentials, Wella, and Nail Tropics.
The Liver wellness and liver disease prevention program by ZCA raised awareness about the role of women in the prevention of liver disease. Participants were informed of the simple and cost-effective strategies towards disease prevention. The aim of this project is to be at the forefront in advocating for liver wellness and liver disease prevention. Participants were also able to avail vaccinations and screenings as part of the demonstration of cost-effective strategies in the prevention of liver disease.
Of the ten barangays that comprise Muntinlupa City, only one, Ayala Alabang is self -sufficient while the other nine barangays located alongside Laguna de Bay ( across SLEX) are frequently inundated by the monsoon rains that beset the area. Due to the recent "habagat" rains, once again homes were flooded and lives disrupted . The Zonta Club of Alabang is always quick to respond to these recurring calamities and over 5,000 people were given food packs. In the true spirit of camaraderie and giving, the club showed once again their "corps de espirit" when it comes to the club's many outreach projects.
